WCAS is focused on investing responsibly and for long-term
sustainability. To that end, WCAS adopted an Environmental,
Social and Corporate Governance ("ESG") policy in December
2013. During pre-acquisition due diligence and
post-acquisition analysis, ESG opportunities and risks at portfolio
companies are evaluated by WCAS Investment Professionals and
Resources Group professionals. WCAS identifies ESG
initiatives, which are incorporated into a portfolio company's
Value Maximization Plan. As part of our ongoing portfolio
company review process, WCAS assesses the progress of our portfolio
companies in achieving their ESG initiatives.
Beginning in 2014, WCAS began collecting information from our
portfolio companies regarding various ESG initiatives, including
efforts focused on (i) energy and/or waste reduction, (ii)
workplace safety programs and (iii) corporate governance policies
and procedures to help us identify ESG opportunities in the
portfolio. WCAS also added the capability to track Minority
or Women-Owned Business Enterprises ("MWBE") suppliers identified
by our portfolio companies to our spend analytics tool. This
data collection allows WCAS to set a baseline to measure future
performance and is instrumental in identifying ESG issues and
opportunities for our portfolio companies.
WCAS is pleased with our ESG efforts to date, and we will
continue to focus on environmental, public health, safety, social
and governance issues with the goal of improving performance and
minimizing any adverse impact in these areas.
