Mr. Lanier is an Operating Partner on the Healthcare team, having joined in 2018. Mr. Lanier currently serves as President of The Health Management Academy (“The Academy”), an affiliate of WCAS. In this capacity, he works directly with top executives from the nation’s ~150 largest health systems and most innovative healthcare companies to address complex industry challenges and opportunities. He oversees the Academy’s Research, Policy and Alliance divisions, and leads Finance, Strategy and New Product Development. Since joining The Academy in 2018, Mr. Lanier has been instrumental in the launch of numerous strategic partnerships between health systems, industry companies and WCAS where they have invested together or formed joint ventures. Prior to the Academy, Mr. Lanier spent 18 years at the Advisory Board Company, where he held several key executive roles, including leading the firm’s Strategy and New Product Development group. His team managed the partnerships with MedeAnalytics, Verisk Health, Millman and Recondo as well as acquisitions of Crimson, Southwind and Clinnovations. Patrick also served as the Advisory Board’s Health Care Head of Revenue with responsibility for $600M of annual revenue.
